Republican Byron Donalds wins race for Florida governor

QuoteDonalds will succeed outgoing Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, who used the office to fan presidential ambitions and steer President Donald Trump 's adopted home state further to the right.

Looks like the governorship of Florida will remain in Republican hands. Congratulations Mr. Donalds.

Republicans took a thwumping yesterday. I don't think it means a whole lot though, at least not as much as people say. Democrats won't really be able to get anything past Trump's veto pen. They don't have a big enough majority in the Senate to override a veto. It may be a little harder to get the justices and cabinet members he wants though.
